BIOGRAPHY
Star Vision is an electronic pop/rock act based in Stockholm, Sweden, founded by Scott van Dort – born out of nostalgia for the 80s, a time when blockbuster films filled the big screen, guitar solos ruled the radio, and epic summers created memories that would last forever.
Star Vision blends pop, rock, synthpop, and AOR, drawing influence from a wide range of artists from the 80s and 90s to create a sound that's both nostalgic and familiar yet modern and unique. That sense of longing and looking back runs deeper than sound alone, reflecting a life spent between worlds and always moving forward.
Growing up in Melbourne, Australia, in the ’80s, and born to a line of voyagers who crossed continents, van Dort has called six countries home – driven by ambition, and by a search for belonging. That restlessness, be it time-traveling through music or traveling across the world physically, creates a sense of duality in the work: the past meeting the present, distance counterbalanced by memory, and an endless pursuit of possibility.
Beginning with the 2023 debut EP Another Time, Another Place, Star Vision has continued to evolve and refine its sound with every release. The 2024 sophomore EP Four More Reasons Why marked a step forward in both songwriting and production. The EP was mixed by Stefan Boman (Roxette, Opeth, kent) at Atlantis Studios in Stockholm, Sweden and mastered by Tony Lindgren (Billie Eilish, Opeth, Sepultura) at Fascination Street Studios.
Performing throughout Sweden in 2024 as a solo act, Star Vision was invited to perform at the official afterparty for the first annual Malmö Melodic festival in the summer, where fans from 22 countries gathered to watch top-tier AOR and melodic rock acts like Perfect Plan, Dare, and Remedy.
In 2025, Star Vision embraced a deeper electronic direction. A remake of the Lionel Richie hit Running with the Night was released in March 2025, which charted on the Hyppedit Pop Charts, followed by the synth-driven single In The Night, We're Free.
2026 is set to be a landmark year for Star Vision, with two new singles arriving in the early months. The first, High on Love, drops on 23 January 2026 – an electronic-pop number that stands as Star Vision’s most fully realized sound to date. Its release will be supported by a nationwide UK radio campaign. Following shortly after is The Magic of Youth, a nostalgic and anthemic track that carries all the hallmarks of an AOR classic.
Step into a world where yesterday is today and the music never fades.
