Released on 4 March 2022, 'Destiny' was the first song ever released by Star Vision, marking the beginning of a project born from a love of the rock and pop music of the 1980s.
 

Musically, the song draws on the more atmospheric and melodic side of 80s rock and pop. Among its influences was the mood and allure of Whitesnake's 'Is This Love', where emotion, space and melody are every bit as important as the guitars. Synth textures and a strong pop sensibility sit alongside rock influences, establishing some of the musical foundations that Star Vision would continue to explore on later releases.
 

The recording features Doug Mecca of Los Angeles progressive rock/metal act Lucid Fly, whose spacious yet soaring guitar solo brings a distinct melodic voice to the track without pushing the song into heavier territory.

​Originally released as a standalone single, 'Destiny' later became part of Star Vision's 2023 debut EP, 'Another Time, Another Place' on 31 March 2023.

A couple of months later, US producer and artist D.O.O.O.M reimagined 'Destiny' as a synthwave remix, taking the song further into the electronic sounds of the 1980s while retaining its melodic character.  The remix was released on 26 May 2023.

 

The 'Destiny (D.O.O.O.M remix)' would later take on a life of its own: from 2025 onwards, it became the version of 'Destiny' performed in Star Vision's live sets.
